The halwa is sweet and the puri is savory... but a chana frequently accompanies this great pair. I very advocate the Dry Kala Chana I have incorporated as optional from the recipe. Other chana alternatives contain Kala Chana Masala, with black chickpeas, together with Chole, a yellow chickpea curry.
